Derren Brown Will Be Predicting The Lottery Numbers
In a hero or zero stunt, all of the hints decoded from the adverts and various viral marketing websites have come good - today Derren posted on his blog that he will be attempting to predict the lottery numbers, live on TV. Here's the cool new advert which you can expect to see plastered over Channel 4 this week:
Of course, if you've been following my articles and all the buzz about The Events then Derren might have actually given us the numbers he thinks are going to come up. Want to know them? Then check out my article on it here.
According to Derren: "This the culmination of a LOT of secret work and research". On Weds night, live at 10.35 pm, it will cut across all Channel 4 channels, and will be broadcast on buildings in:
- London (Probably Marble Arch – otherwise will let you know where),
- Manchester (Premier Lodge/back-up Deansgate Lock),
- Birmingham (5-ways Entertainment Complex/Bull-ring, Moor St Side as back-up)
- Edinburgh (Hunter Square/back-up Museum of Scotland)[/b]
Exciting times indeed, and it seems we finally know a rough outline of all 4 'Events'. We learnt previously that each event will either be to trick, to win, to fool or to control. So here's what it all (probably) pans down to:
- Event 1 - To Win (The Lottery)
- Event 2 - To Control (Sticking us to our sofas, among other things)
- Event 3 - To Fool (Using 'Remote Viewing' - the title of the Event is 'To Fool the CIA' - Check out this article for more info)
- Event 4 - To Trick (A Casino related stunt with a twist)
Derren's new post confirms that all the red and black references are to do with a Casino stunt, or more likely a 'live' roulette prediction, possibly allowing a random person of the audience to win a fair amount of money. What's more interesting is that the "to trick" and "to win" categories could be the other way around? In fact it's more likely to be a "trick" to predict the lottery numbers, as in terms of probabilities it's harder to do.
Now that Derren has had tabloib coverage about the lottery stunt, there's going to be a lot of eyes on him on Wednesday night, so let's hope it's not just a broadcast delay stunt. I'm hopeful, as it wouldn't take a year to plan a stunt using a delay, and would mean a pretty boring Friday night show when he explains how he did it. I'll finish this article with a nice quote from Camelot:
“Seventy per cent of the adult population will be trying to predict the six lucky numbers for Wednesday nights Lotto draw”
So I guess that's their way of wishing Derren good luck.

My iPad screen looks disgraceful when compared to the iPhone. I'll have to upgrade to a retina iPad when they are available
Three appear to allow free tethering on their iPhone plans (obviously uses your 1gb limit). Will test on laptop in a bit
